About the Fund The proceeds from the golf tournament, benefit dinner, and other fundraisers will benefit the John Baggs Memorial Fund, which has been started to honor a man who excelled in leadership, teaching, and promoting strong family values. To salute individuals and groups who value the ideals by which Coach Baggs lived, the fund will provide financial support to groups throughout the Duluth area involving youth sports and cancer research. A large portion of the proceeds from all fundraising efforts will also be included in the John Baggs Memorial Scholarship which will be awarded to deserving students at The College of St. Scholastica. The fund, which was started in 2009, has a board of directors which will direct where the monies collected will be used.
